October 14: Litquake: Sports and Identity

I’m so excited to be appearing with Mike Copperman and Swetha Amit at this panel on sports and identity.

Mike is the author of the insightful, moving new book on wrestling and wrestling culture, Seeking Kenny, which is out now. He’s also the author of Teacher, a book about his experiences as part of the Teach for America program. I’ve known Mike for years, and I’ve long been an admirer of his acumen and his pedagogical skills. I’ve never read anything by Mike that hasn’t made me sit still, consider, and reconsider.

I’ve just met Swetha, but from reading her work, I know we’re going to have a terrific conversation. I hope you’ll join us at this panel at Litquake, October 14, 6:30 PM, at the Sports Basement in SF. You can sign up here!
